Can you think of any married couples in the land of soaps that are truely happy??

So far all i can think of is Jim and Dot in Eastenders. They've got to have been faithful and not tried to kill each other before! This is a hard one!

I agree with Audrey and Alf. However even Jack had an affair many moons ago!

Gus and wellard

inseperable

ummm it's usually the much older couples the one's that don't show much.

Susan and Carl from neighbours i think are quite happy

Nope I cant think of any either, the happily married ones dont provide good storylines I guess!

why not if they will a good couples they will happy

Jack and Vera Duckworth in Coronation Street. Also, Audrey and Alf before he died.

I miss Angie and Dirty Den

grandma and grandpa horton from days of our lives

What about the Dingles?
(She's probably the only person to see him with his cap off).

Ashley and Laurel from Emmerdale seem happy enough (for now anyway!)

Edward and Lila Quartermaine were happy until she died. Ruth and Joe Martin from AMC. Renee and Asa Buchannan from OLTL.

Bert and Ernie - although not actually married I'm sure if Sesame Street was to modernise, Bert and Ernie would stop living in sin and become civil partners!

That would make too boring of a story if too many were happy all the time.
On Days of our Lives-I would say Doug & Julie, Bo & Hope, Mickey & Maggie and Alice & Tom Horton.

Darn it I can't think of any. I wonder if soaps would still be interesting if characters were truely happy?

When ever I see a soap couple that are two happy, I always know that one will, die, or cheat, or be killed after they cheat

Zac & the fat lass in that emerdale thingimajig

I think Jack and Vera are happy underneath all the bickering!
If you're happy in soapland, you just know that something terrible's going to happen.

Nash and Jess on One Life to Live

It was later revealed that, like her mother, Jessica suffered from dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder. Though she was involved with Antonio, her wild alter ego, Tess, dated and soon fell for Nash Brennan. The cause of her mental illness was eventually discovered to be the fact that Jessica had been molested as a child by a man named Norman Leeds. In May 2006, Jessica gave birth to Nash's daughter, Brennan Buchanan. The following November, she married Antonio.

Soon after the marriage, Jessica began to develop feelings for Nash, who shared her feelings once he let go of Tess. In May 2007, she was just about to tell Antonio that she wanted to be with Nash, but then she collapsed. The next day, Jessica was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, presumably a result of Tess' wild lifestyle. At the same time, she finally divulged her secret love to her husband, who afterwards wanted nothing to do with her. It was later discovered by Dr. Michael McBain that she had liver cancer and would need a transplant. A slew of people were tested and there was a perfect match: Antonio. He had since left town with Jamie and Nash tracked him down just in time to return to Llanview to save Jessica's life.

Jessica and Antonio divorced in July 2007, but Jessica collapsed in the courthouse as her body rejected the transplanted liver. David Vickers was determined to be suitable liver donor. Nash proposed, and he and Jessica were married 12 July 2007 in her hospital room.

Adding to Dragon Lady's list from Days...
Steve & Kayla
John & Marlena (until he was killed)
Jack and Jennifer (not currently on the show)
Justin & Adrienne (Justin off-screen but as far as we know they are still happily married)

Stan & Hilda Ogden (Corrie - Okay going back a bit I know!)

Jim and Dot
Vera and Jack
Emily and Ernest Bishop [before he was killed ]

Phil and Jill Archer, from the radio 4 soap 'The Archers' :o)

Apparently they've just had their 50th wedding anniversary on the show.

The Royal, the two Doctors ( I can't think of their names), they are actually husband and wife in real life too..... The male doctors wife was in a coma, and died, and the new wife had a baby not long ago,in real life, and in the story.
