Why are most of the Holloyaks characters good looking?

Why are most of the Hollyoaks characters good looking?Almost every single girl/woman on that soap are really attractive (except mother mcqueen, nancey, tina) Are the creative team afriad to throw in any ugly, or atleast half decent people in that soap? I'm not talking about the men btw.

Yeah it's true but it is a great show and I've watched it since the start!

If anyone who has watched it in the last year or so will have seen some of the best storey lines they have ever had,with the Claire saga,and Craig/JP,WHICH HAVE BEEN GRIPPING!

There have been some crap actors on it,but some amazing ones to!

But then again,that goes for most soaps...(EastEnders!)

Just cause they are mostly good looking doesn't make the show rubbish,cause it ain't!

Most people who don't watch need to open there minds and watch a few episodes,they'll find there are some good storey lines that other soaps could do with!

To keep people watching. That way they can get away with poor scripts and bad acting

It's tradition. Like all the people in Eastenders are terminally depressing and all the people in Corrie are working class

Ive watched it for years but when my bf started, he couldnt tell the difference between all the girls because they looked the same. I want to know y all the McQueen girls have different accents? I know they dont all have the same Dad but that has nothing to do with the accents.
Even though it is generally an atractive soap, I think they have good storylines and well acted.

Hollyoaks is originally broadcast as "the first teenage soap" they chose to have good looking characters to engage with their teenage audience. Although needless to say Tony hasn't got better since 1994, I can still see him with his long hair. *shudders*
