What ever happened to John Black from Days of our lives?

i haven't seen him for awhile

He was killed off and the rumor in the magazines is that he will be back to DAYS in the New Year.

he's......DEAD. But he'll probably be back.

He was killed off in a hit and run accident. He was crossing the street and another man in a car hit him. John died in the hospital and his funeral was the very next day on the show. I doubt he'll be back, because anytime the funeral is follows almost immediately after the announcement of death of that character, it usually means that character is out of the story line for good.

I don't find this odd because Drake Hogenstein- aka- John Black was quite upset with the head writer and his lack of air time this past year. I think Drake opted out of his renewal of contract.

Oh geez, if I could only count how many times people have been "dead" and then come back to life. It's riduculous really!!

he died it was a hit and run out in a parking lot his head was bleeding major. it was sad but he will hopefully be back. i love that show.

John Black was hit by a car and passed away. Stefano
had something to do with that, no doubt. Miss seeing
him on Days that wasn't fair to write him out like that!

They killed him off because he wanted to retire and spend some qt time with his family. It's not like he can't come back, everyone else dies and comes back. I think it's funny that he lost a kidney and lives, but gets hit by a car and dies. It's John Black for cryin out loud, they shoulda been more creative.

He was supposedly killed by a hit & run driver while helping Marlena unlock Belle's car. Earlier in the show, EJ was going to have Belle hit by a car, but it didn't work out for him. He was trying to scare Sami by hurting Belle. John got hit by a car that they never found and the storyline just went away after John's funeral (but I think he's not really dead). There's a few clues (Marlena's not really grieving the way she would after her deep love for John all these years)
