Why Are Soap Opera Fans The Ugliest People On Earth?

Under protest I attended a soap opera event in a sports bar in the city last night in NYC to guard my mother's things while she mingled with the crowd. What i saw there were the ugliest people on Earth. Almost all of the women fans were overweight, were very rude and pushed and shoved, harassed the actors in the restrooms, and down-right bitches.

Is it because you're fat and ugly that you have watch "beautiful" people on tv and fantasize? Quite sad really.

I hate soap-operas. I think the footage looks low-quality ... almost surreal.

I happen to be a huge soap opera fan. I'm not overweight, I'm not ugly and I'm not rude. I would consider you rude for asking such a question. If you're not a soap fan then you have no right to even ask a question in this category. And in case you haven't noticed not all people on tv are beautiful. Soaps are not about fantasizing. 2 hours out of my day are spent watching soaps. It's my time to relax and get away from it all.

Sorry, but I resent this question. Mainly because (a) I'm a soap fan, and have been for years; and (b) I look DAMN good. Maybe it's not soap fans that are ugly, maybe its New Yorkers. Or people who go to sports bars. By the way, since your mom was there, apparently as a fan, are you classifying her as ugly, because I seriously doubt she would appreciate that.

It does seem that all the people they show in the soap opera magazines and on tv as soap fans are how you described them; however, I wouldn't stereotype by using the word all. I am not fat or ugly, but do not watch them. I used to.

I am a soap fan, overweight but though I may not be drop-dead gorgeous, I'm not ugly. I am far from rude - at least not rude enough to ask why all sports fans are all beer-bellied, smelly, loudmouths. Since these people were in a sports bar, are you sure they were soap fans and not sports fans? Or maybe the attitudes of the regular patrons was rubbing off on them.
