People who moan and whinge about Soaps On the television...?

all you that moan about soaps being a load of rubbish..i am not being funny but stop whining!!!
most soaps that are on the telly take up half an hour of your telly time, so basically only really half an hour to an hour and a half is taken up by soaps on channels a day..the rest of the time you can watch whatever un-soapish programmes you want..so when people leave questions asking about soaps and you wanna reply "no point they are all a load of rubbish and a waste of time" or something like that..get a life and let people who enjoy watching them talk about them!!!

if you look at what i said you will see i said most soaps only last HALF AN HOUR which means there is only about half an hour to an hour and a half of soaps a day...i never said soaps are only on the telly for half an hour a day!

Elizad - pay more attention to the question details. She is obviously British and talking about British soaps. They run on 30 minute episodes.
I try to ignore the soap bashers. I feel that if they don't like them so much they should stay away from the subject but everyone has a right to earn their two points even if their opinion is not welcome. However, I do get angry about those who bash soap viewers saying we 'sit on our fat @$$e$ all day doing nothing but watching the soaps'. They have no clue about each person's life and are rude and insulting with their kinds of questions and comments.

A half an hour of soaps a day, have you looked at the TV guide.

"People who moan and whinge about Soaps On the television...?" Simply shouldn't watch. I always hear people complaining about shows they didn't like... It's not as if there only one TV channel.

People have to find ways to always complain about something. Who cares what they say. If they don't like it they don't have to watch it.

Agreed to a point! Although soaps take up a hell of a lot more than an hour and half a day!! But when you pay for a licence and are served up drivel, waffle and soap I think you have the right to whine. I personally find my life so much more satisfying now. I refuse to pay to have my children's minds turned to jelly so I got rid of the TV. I personally take great satisfaction in responding to questions like "did you see that thing on TV last night? It was such rubbish" with "No - we have better things to do than waste time watching rubbish only to moan about it the next day"

I don't know anyone with a TV who doesn't moan about it!! So get rid of it!!

must admit that i do watch now, where once i wouldn't bother. I think getting older has something to do with it in my case, just can't get off my bum to change the channels, only kidding......... by the way why do they give out the plots for all three current soaps, weeks in advance. I know what happens in Emmerale, corrie and Eastenders, as read in one paper the entitre Christmas schedule and on TV a reviewer did the same thing, what's the point of watching...

i used to watch all the soaps but these days its very rare i watch any t v. but i dnt moan about soaps other programmes yes cos its all a load o rubbish these days even over christmas all repeats.

IF you just take half hour soap at a time you would watch approx or up to 4+ hours aday or on sunday you can watch up to appox 5+ hours at a time so 1 day a week is just soaps then more when bbs gets its new down under soap, so you must watch 12 days ayear+ just watching soaps

i'm gonna be devils advocate and say it called freedom of speech. jus like u have the right to rant like u did other ppl who think soaps are rubbish have the right to do the same. granted i wish they would do it somewhere else more than half the time they are well within their right. and right now u are the one moaning and whining. we need to be more tolerant of others and their opinions.

Like a lot of other people will comment on look at what soaps are on and the amount of time they take up ?
Mind you I suppose it is better to see something that brings a little joy to peoples lives rather than Iraq or the state of the UK.
Other than that what to eat or not too and how **** we are at picking partners, cloths and general life.
So hey each to their own but some of the soaps story lines are very boring and worn out simple as.

i think because there are a lot of soaps on TV some running many years and some not so long, the stories go between gripping and a bit mediocre, but basically as you say they are just half hour slots of pure escapism, something to chat about at work the next day, id much rather a soap than another "Celebrity, Reality" programme hosted by Graham Norton

They secretly Watch them ,,How can you find out what they are like without Watching ,Its mainly a Man thing ,wont admit to it,

i love them,don't hurt any one,well it don't me....besides these days there are remote controls so people can turn over etc,not really hard is it...but these people who do whinge do strangely seem to know Wat's going on in the soaps for people the "don't" watch them!
