Howcome only American guests appear on the Dr Phil, Opra and other shows?

Many American shows are seen world wide. They are internationally acclaimed shows, but the Hosts seem to concentrate only on Americans. Eg in South Africa we see Dr Phil 2x's a week and then also his son hosts a show once a week. Opra we see 3 times a week?

ti would be great if these shows were opened up to an international array of guests. british stars often appear on american shows. but it would eb great if the programming offered something new. the media has a tendency to stick with a domestic point of view and that can be limiting.

Because the main audience is American. I mean- if they had someone who's famous in South Africa on the show we probably wouldn't know who it it so why would we watch it? Does that make sense?

I'm guessing because it is a lot cheaper for transportation to the shows taping.

Most of them deal with topics dealing with US people. Though I have seen an occasional foreign guest

Are you serious. Its an American show. Shot in America. Not an international show. They just show it in other countries.

Because these shows are in America and if there were people who were from other Nations that wanted to be on the show....They need to set up a way to appear on the show. These are American shows and if it was a South African show then there would be South African guests.

My guess if foreigners don't want to be on American talk shows.
