Is Ellen wrong to continue show?

I think good for her!! As far as I'm concerned, Tv shows have a responsibility toward their audience, and boycotting cuts off their lifeline. Many people travel across the nation just to watch shows, they take a vacation, just to a show. But just because writers are mad they get screwed. As far as I'm concerned Ellen made a good compromise, she is giving her support in little ways but still keeping the show on air. Like they say the show must go on, so stop whining about what she did in the past and get over it. I agree that writers should get their demands but don't screw the industry just to satisfy yourself.

So in conclusion keep your anger directed at the corporations and stop whining!!!!

I don't watch her show (or any other daytime talk show) so my comment has nothing to do with its content.

The writers are on strike for their interests.

Ellen has her show for her interests.

People watch her show for their interests.

Ellen and the viewing public may have empathy, or even sympathy, for the writers but that does not mean that their interests should be subservient to the writers.

Ellen has as much right to keep her show going as the writers have to strike and, since she does have a viewing audience, her right to keep going is more in line with the right of the viewing audience to watch it. There is no reason for her to extend the writers cause to her own or that of her audience.

Writers are mad because they feel they should be paid for their work if their work is sold via cell phones and the internet.

Yes, I think Ellen is wrong for continuing the show.

The writers aren't simply mad, they have been wronged by the TV industry, and the only way they can do this is by striking. It won't screw the industry any more than the UAW screws the automobile industry by going on strike. Chrysler recovered, so will Hollywood.

As for Ellen, I like her, but I think she's made a bad decision here.

I think Ellen is ok with continuing her show. To the person who thinks she's wrong for doing so, WHY are you attacking Ellen? What about Oprah? She's continuing her show too...don't see you picking on her??

I see how quick actors and such are to be supportive of the writer's strike, going on the streets, bringing them breakfast and what not, helping out, but if they really want to help out the writers, how about them actors taking a PAY CUT, that way the writers get the money they want and everyone's happy. No more writer's strike. It seems to me that if people want to be supportive than they need to talk the talk and not just walk the walk.

If it weren't for her writers, Ellen would be sitting at home in front of the TV watching Oprah instead of where she is now. I think she should stand by the people that helped made her who she is. She spent alot more time supporting that pooch than she is to the people that deserve it.

No. Ellen has said that she supports the writers and has cut out her monologue to demonstrate this. Without the opening monologue, her show should be considered the same as the other talk show which are remaining on the air.

Ellen wasn't wrong in the situation of continuing on. For fairness of shows. She is in 2 categories she's in the daytime spot and in syndication. It's a different kind of show which allows her to be a host and give people answers. Sorta like here, she's telling people news and interviews with her own creative style. That is what makes Ellen Show special. She does respect the writers and has cut her daily monologue. She hopes everything get settle with the strike. For her to have a world wide audience and about 135 employees it would be tremendous to shut it down.
