Reagrding the writer's strike, how can The View and Regis still be live?

They have no "real" writer's on those shows! Based on the topics and conversations on those programs they are wingin' it!

"Daytime TV, including live talk shows such as "The View" and soap operas, which typically tape about a week's worth of shows in advance, would be next to feel the impact."

They do not have writers,those shows are ad-libbed & the hosts talk about whatever comes to mind.

They do not have a full script. Instead, they have simply prompts, and then just comment about it however they see fit.

This is the same principal that is allowing Fox to premier "American Idol" this spring as planned, as well as bringing "Hell's Kitchen" to the air, and keeping shows like "Deal or No Deal," "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader," "Don't Forget The Lyrics," etc.

Because shows like those take what's going on in politics and the news media and talk about them, there's no scripts, it's all live and unscripted.

They have no writers. The View women discuss before the show what they're going to talk about. It's ad lib.
And Regis & Kelly don't even see each other before the show. They're "off the cuff" too.

They have no writers. The View has a list of Hot Topics they want to discuss and often have facts toback them up. Regis and kelly just start to talk, which is what makes their show great.

They don't have writers, they open their shows with the latest news or topics & go right into welcoming their guests.

There are a lot of talk shows that dont depend on writers for their material. This is when we should thank goodness for talk shows.
